SheIn

Hi ladies!  As much as I enjoy wearing skirts and dresses, there are times when soft, comfortable leggings sound very appealing.  The only problem is that I have a very difficult time finding blouses and tunics that are long enough to cover the back and the front of my upper thigh area.  So, when SheIn reached out to me about collaborating, I knew exactly what I wanted to find. I love the breezy feel of this blouse, the beautfiul embroidery and the length is perfect.  SheIn is an online retailer whose products seem similar to a Forever 21.  The price points are low and they have a huge variety of items from classic to trendy.  SheIn is carrying some stylish outerwear right now, here and some unique longer length skirts for fall here,

Also, the Natural & Organic Skin Care company I am a consultant for, Neal's Yard Remdedies, is having a FLASH SALE today!  Eveything is 20% off!!!  I plan on stocking up on vitamins, lipsticks and moisturizer.  Here is the link, your discount will be applied at checkout.  Email me if you have any questions.

Mustard Cardigan & Floral Skirt

Hi friends!  I love that it is now officially fall, however, the temperature still feels like summer.  I paired this autumn inspired mustard cardigan with this breezy skirt to usher in fall.  Although, the floral pattern of the skirt looks more springish (is that a word?), the rich yellow and cognac colors give note to the fall season.  I had a turquoise pendant on too, but it broke as I was taking the photos!  It is too bad because that necklace literally went with every outfit!!

Fall Favorites (under $100)

Hi ladies!  I compiled a list of some of my favorite pieces for fall!  I am making an effort to wear more skirts and dresses this fall and winter.  Now that our school year is starting and I will be staying at home more, when I do leave the house, I like to be put together.  I have always loved the colors of autumn and was drawn to rich hues of mustard, olive, burgundy and cognac when I created this collage.  All these pieces can be mixed and matched too.  Most of these pieces are also sold from online boutiques owned by hard working mothers and wives.  As much as I like Target, LOFT and Nordstrom, I like to patronize small buisnesses as well. I hope you enjoy!

Utility Jacket

Hi ladies!  Another staple to add to your closet for the fall is a field/utility jacket.  These lightweight jackets look great with a casual dress or jeans.  I purchased this one from LOFT last fall, but have linked LOFT's newest version here.  This dress is also a great addition to my closet.  The material is pretty thick and textured so it covers any imperfections.  The length and looser fit make this perfect for chasing little ones around.

On a side note, we have been ramping up for the beginning of our homeschool year.  I recently implemented having the girls memorize a short Bible verse all week and then "present" that verse to my husband on Fridays.  I would love to say that I chose these verses in an organized fashion that coordinated with our curriculum, but I really have just been choosing scripture that is easy for little ones to remember and comprehend.  I am going to be posting the verses daily mainly to hold me accountable for continuing this lesson weekly.  I'd love to hear how any of you Mamas have incorporated the Bible into your child's education (even if you do not officially homeschool) or how you have incorporated any memory work.  I purchased a little display chalkboard from the $1 section at Target and it is perfect for this project.

Here are the verses I chose for our first three weeks of school:

"This is the day the Lord has made, Let us rejoice and be glad" - Psalm 118: 24
"Be still and know that I am God" - Psalm 46: 10
"Store up for yourself treasures in Heaven"  - Matthew 6:20

Not only are these short verses easy to remember, but also there are good lessons to be learned.  Psalm 118: 24 reminds us to be thankful for each day regardless of our trials and tribulations.  Psalm 46: 10 teaches us that we need not worry and be anxious because we are not in control.  Matthew 6: 20 shows us that none of our earthly belongings will compare to the gift of heaven.  I am sure there are numerous way to interpret these verses, but my 6 and 7 year old were able to comprehend them and this exercise really made them think and ask questions as they were practicing.

Thanks so much for reading!!

Poncho

Hi ladies!!  I was so excited to come across this poncho from Mint Julep Boutique last fall.  I love the laid back idea of a poncho, but most I came across were bulky and shapeless.  This one is perfect for me because it is lightweight, drapes perfectly and has a cute pattern that doesn't overwhelm you.
It's not quite long enough for leggings, but pairs nicely with skinny jeans or a skirt.  I linked the exact poncho in the "outfit details" below, but also added some other options if you are looking for something with a little more warmth.

Don't forget to enter here to win the mineral rich Seaweed & Arnica Foaming Bath and the ultra nourishing Bee Lovely Body Lotion.  US Residents only.  NYR Organics is not affiliated with this giveaway, just my way of saying "Thanks for reading!"  And please enter if you have a second, I'd love to gift one of you with these luxurious products!!

Flip Flops & A Giveaway

Hi ladies!!  The morning we took these picutes, we were at the doctor for over two hours getting my 6 year old's cast removed!  I hadn't planned on taking any pictures but Ellie (my one year old) fell asleep in the car so we had some time to waste before heading home and I happened to have the camera with me.
Since it had been raining, I wore flip flops because I didn't want to ruin any of my other shoes.  I was going to crop the flip flops out, but thought I'd leave them in the pictures to show "real life".  No make up, air dried hair and flip flops- now if only the pictures could show the exhaustion of wrangling four children in a tiny doctor's office for over two hours!!

I am really excited to wear this outfit with tights, ankle boots and a scarf when it starts to get cooler.

GIVEAWAY!!!

I am also excited to be offering a FREE Giveaway of some of my favorite NYR Organics Beauty Products to thank you ladies for taking the time to read my little blog.  I have written about this luxurious brand here and here and I love the products so much that I became a consultant!! Kimono

Hi ladies!  I bought this kimono at Ruche when I was pregnant last summer and it was a great addition to my basic white tank and shorts maternity uniform.  A kimono is the perfect lightweight layer to complete your outfit.  I love pairing this one with an all black canvas to make all the colors stand out.

A black maxi is an important addition to your fall wardrobe.  It can be worn like a skirt, dress and can be layered with just about anything.  I purchased this one at LOFT last season, but I linked some affordable (under $70) solid maxis below.

Short Sleeve Maxi Dress

Hi ladies!  Especially when I am in a hurry to get ready (everyday), it is so nice to just be able to throw on a dress and a neckace and be done.  Plus, you don't have to worry about tucking and untucking.  That is why a short sleeve, printed maxi is a great addition to your fall wardrobe.  Since my 1 year old does not nurse that often anymore and I don't nurse her in public because she gets way too distracted, I can wear this dress again.  If you do have a nursing baby, you could still do a maxi with camisole or tank straps and a short sleeve, cropped cardigan to acheive the same look and still be accessible to a nursing cutie!  Hope this helps!!
Thanks again for reading you guys!

Rainbow Stripes

Hi!  Hope you all had a nice weekend!  My girls refer to this skirt as the "rainbow skirt".  They tell me to wear it pretty much every day and always want me to wear it with a rainbow shirt!  Thank goodness I don't have one!  A tee and a maxi skirt can fall a little flat, but throw in a necklace and a jean jacket and it comes together nicely!  Thanks so much for reading!!
