Olive & Pink

Hi ladies!  When it comes to spring, one of the most basics and easy outfits is all white base with different color accessories.  I love the mix of olive and pink along with bright white background.  This idea has also led me to shopping for the perfect white dress for this spring and summer.  A good white dress is a great investment and a perfect addition to your wardrobe.  A white dress looks great with a jean jacket, faux leather moto jacket, colorful cardigan or can stand alone as well with some interesting jewelry.  I have linked a few modestly priced options below.  

On a personal note, my oldest daughter made her First Communion over the weekend and I was just overwhelmed with joy for her!  It was such a beautiful ceremony and I can't believe the young lady she is turning into!  I totally cried, of course.

Kimono & Scarf

Hi ladies!  Today's look is a casual look that is perfect for running errands.  I love pieces like this kimono (also worn here) and this "skinny" scarf because they can elevate a simple jeans and tee to a "put together" ensemble.  Both of these items are great too because they will always fit, are great layers for nursing and can be worn throughout pregnancy.

Pink Blush & Giveaway

Hi ladies!!  So a couple of weeks ago I stumbled across this gorgeous dress from Pink Blush Maternity.  I visited the site and although this dress was sold out, I fell in love with their product line immediately!  They started as a maternity boutique I believe, but they now carry women's styles and plus styles as well.  In addition, Pink Blush also carries dresses and tops that are designed to transition throughout pregnancy and motherhood!  How genius is that?  It is perfect for the mother, like me, that has been pregnant or breastfeeding for over 8 years!  It is always a challenge buying dresses when you are fluctuating in size so much.  That is why I was so excited to discover Pink Blush.  The dress I chose that is pictured in this post is constructed with a lightweight, non clingy material and an empire waistline that is flattering before, during and after pregnancy.

Also, I rarely ever wear heels, but I saw these suede, purple heels at Macy's the other day for only $19.99 and picked them up on a whim.  They seem to pair well with this dress although there is no actual purple in the dress (or mint for that matter).  What is so great about this dress, and many of the dresses at Pink Blush, is that they can be dressed up with heels and delicate jewelry or sandals and a denim jacket.  I already know this dress will be a staple this summer!

Duster Cardigan

Hi ladies!  A long cardigan, like I am wearing here, is a great transitional piece.  It can be thrown over a summer dress or capris and a T-shirt as a light jacket, making your summer outfits appropriate for spring.

Orange & Chambray

Hi all!  I purchased this LOFT maxi from Like Twice before they were bought by ebay.  Now I have been selling all my old clothes to Thred Up.  I haven't ordered anything from them yet, but they seem to have a lot of options!  I love buying quality clothing second hand, since everything seems second hand once you wear it once or twice.  Plus, so much energy goes into producing more and more clothes particular in our "throw away" culture.

Maxi Skirt & Blazer

Hi all!!  Hope you had a lovely weekend!  Today I am featuring a "dressy casual" outfit that is also cozy and functional.  I love jersey maxi skirts for that reason.  You can dress them up or down and they can be appropriate for work, a play date or church.  (Also great at the beginning and after pregnancy.)  I am not expecting at the moment, but these maternity ruched tanks are very flattering during pregnancy and when not pregnant as well.  

I purchased this blazer at Goodwill a couple of years ago and I had NO idea that I had gotten such a good deal!!  I could tell the blazer was a quality piece but never thought it was originally over $150!  Yikes! 

Lastly, I picked this necklace up at Target a couple of days ago and I have been wearing it with everything!  It is really versatile and adds an interesting touch to any outfit.
