Fall Florals

Hi ladies!  Another casual look on the blog today!  I think these maternity jeans might be from my second pregnancy (seven years ago), before skinny jeans were all the rage.  These have the "full panel" and are so comfortable.  While I think skinny jeans are adorable on pregnant women, I am not sure I could do it!  I can't stand anything too tight when I am further along in my pregnancy.  I get uncontrollably itchy, sweaty and kind of moody!  Ha!  So I will stick to these for now- buying another pair of maternity jeans seems a bit ridiculous at this point!

Prairie Dress

Hi ladies!  I purchased these Aerosole True Plush Wedges through Amazon a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with them!  They are really comfortable even with the wedge heel.  I have actually realized that a little height in my heel is actually more comfortable than a perfectly flat shoe. Has anyone else ever thought that?  Maybe it is just me, but I would actually prefer to wear these than some of my flats if I was going to be doing a lot of walking.  Anyway, I thought Aerosole was targeted to an older crowd but they have a lot of really cute and trendy shoes on the market right now.  (Or maybe I'm just part of the "older crowd" now!  Ha!)  You can always find great shoe deals on Amazon and you can buy some fall boots and ankle boots now for pretty cheap so check them out!

Utility Vest

Hi ladies!  I have been wearing this maxi a ton this summer.  It is not maternity, but has great stretch and is very flattering even with this huge baby bump!  Since this dress is all black, it is really easy to accessorize.  I threw on this utility vest, a statement necklace and some gladiator sandals to make the outfit look more "put together".

This vest is a great addition to your fall wardrobe and is also great for nursing.  (You can lift up your shirt or add a scarf and this vest ensures your back is covered.)

Thanks for reading!!

Pops of Red

Hi ladies!  Here is a super easy outfit featuring items most of us have in our closets already (except for the red heels maybe)!!  But, regardless of what color of your shoe, I love the idea of an all white outfit with just a pop of one or two colors.

I purchased this cardigan through Thred Up and I wear it all the time.  However, I was contemplating replacing the buttons with something like this to give it a little edge.  What do you guys think?  My DIY projects usually turn into fails, but I am not sure if even I could mess this one up!

Summer Skin & Hair Rescue

Hi ladies!  The kiddos have kept me busy this summer with constantly going to the pool, beach and my parent's lake house.  While I love being near the water when it's hot (who doesn't, right?), the sun, chemicals, and lake water definitely takes a toll on my hair and skin.  I have a couple of NYR products that I absolutely swear by for restoring health and shine to your skin and hair.  My absolute favorite product is our Wild Rose Beauty Balm and our Almond Oil takes a close second.  I love pampering myself at least once a week too with our facial mask.  I hadn't used our hair mask in a while, but I will tell you more about that below as well.

1.  Wild Rose Beauty Balm- I have probably talked about this product on the blog before because I use it ALL THE TIME.  Not only is it extremely hydrating and nourishing, but also it is a mild exfoliator so it is removing the dead or dry skin as you are applying it.  I use it whenever I have dry patches and I also apply it all over my face after I use the Facial Mask.  I also put some on my cheekbones to accentuate my cheeks and add that "glow".  This product is also great on sunburns, particularly on your face and scars too.

2.  Rosemary & Cedarwood Hair Treatment- I had been looking for a product that helps with all my flyaways because after 4 babies, I seem to have "new growth" all over and it is all different lengths now.  I found this in the back of my closet, and I couldn't believe I had forgotten about it.  I had used over a year ago when I was struggling with dandruff (here), but since I used it a couple of times, my problem was cured and I had forgotten about it!  So I used it the other day, and it made my hair so shiny and smooth!  I couldn't believe I had forgotten about it!!  It smells great and only contains a few ingredients so you know you are putting a healthy treatment in your lovely locks!  Again, you really only need a little of this- it is a little difficult to wash out, but so worth it!

3.  Rose Formula Antioxidant Facial Mask-  I try to revive my skin with this facial mask at least twice a month.  The kaolin clay base and maple gently purify and cleanse the skin while the wild rosehip oil provides nourishment and tons of antioxidants.  I can almost see my skin glowing immediately after I rinse it off!

4.  Almond Oil- This light, cold pressed skin conditioning oil is for all skin types and helps the skin to retain moisture.  When my skin from the neck down is dry from the pool, I apply this before my lotion and the lotion glides right on and soaks into my skin immediately.  It is also great for my stretch marks and because there are no additives it is great for pregnant women, babies and children.  I will also add a little to the ends of my hair when they begin to frizz (just use a little on your hair though- a little goes a long way!).

We also have a few other promotions and new products this month that I am really excited about so please check them out and don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions!  I would really love to add some ladies to my team so please consider joining me!  I am not pushy and the discount makes it sooo worth it!  If you are interested in any samples or hosting an online party to earn free products let me know too!  Also "like" my Facebook page if you are interested in learning monthly specials.

Floral Dress: Wear Now & Wear Later

Hi ladies!  Even though it is only August 4, I am starting to get excited for fall!  Fall is definitely my favorite season and of course I am anxious to meet this little munchkin!  This floral maxi is a perfect transitional dress because the colors pair well with the bright shades and patters of summer and the deep, rich shades of autumn.  When I wore this dress yesterday, I paired it with delicate gold jewelry, a neutral bag and sandals to keep the look light and airy for summer.  For my "fall look", I paired this dress with a black moto jacket, black accessories, a burgundy bag and suede ankle boots to make the dress appropriate for fall.

Let me just say too how much I LOVE this dress from Pink Blush.  I bought it when I was first pregnant and it fit great then and fits great now!  It will also be perfect for nursing because of the wrap style.  I ended up ordering it in this color too because I have worn it so much already.  If you have not checked out Pink Blush yet, you have to check them out!  They carry a whole line of dresses that can be worn before, during and after the baby comes.  So genius!!  I also purchased this dress from there too!

I linked some other great options for black moto jackets (a must have for fall) and floral maxi dresses at the bottom of this post.

Thanks so much for reading!!

Mommy Style Monday: Girls Day Out

Hi ladies!  I'm really excited about today's post as this will be my first time collaborating with some other women whose blogs I've recently discovered.  This collaboration was started by Kiana from Glitter and Donuts and Madeline from Caseyland, and as a way to inspire and connect with other mothers.  I love these ladies' blogs because they are real, inspiring and so relatable.  Click on one of their links if you would like to join their Mom Style Monday Collaboration.

I started my blog about a year ago, because, as a Mom, it is really easy to get caught in a "style rut".  After becoming a stay at home mom when my oldest was born, almost 9 years ago, I pretty much stopped purchasing clothes for myself and when I did, I mainly gravitated towards yoga pants, tee shirts, sweatshirts etc.  I had always loved fashion, but it didn't make sense to pour money into clothing that may get ruined, to wear shoes that were more difficult to run in, to wear a skirt when you may envision having to go do down a slide or two or to buy dresses that were difficult to nurse in.  But, every Sunday, I felt I didn't have anything to wear to church and even birthday parties and family get togethers - I felt I didn't have a decent outfit to wear so I decided to start putting more thought and effort into my clothing purchases and I feel I now finally have a much more workable closet!   I have learned that wanting to be practical and comfortable does not mean you have to completely sacrifice style.  Also, I love looking at other style blogs, but so many of them share outfits that just aren't realistic in my opinion.  They are still really fun to look at and are intended to be aspirational, but I felt the internet was lacking in giving ideas for what an ordinary stay at home mom could wear on a day to day basis, hence my blog was born!

When I heard the topic for this week, Girls Day Out, I knew I had to participate!!  As a stay at home, homeschooling mom of four girls (and a boy on the way!), every time I go anywhere during the week, it's a girls day out!  But I had been wanting to do something special with them lately.  So many of our trips out of the house lately have consisted of going to the grocery store, dentist office, doctor appointments and running other errands.  I really wanted to spend some time with them that was completely centered on them!  Originally, I wanted to take the three older girls out, while I left my two year old at home with the babysitter during her nap.  Our little Ellie bring us so much joy and is so funny, sweet and adorable, but let's be honest, two year olds are demanding!  I thought it would be fun to take the girls out without having to race back for her nap, without them having to watch Frozen snippets in the car for the hundredth time and without having to wait an extra half hour for her to cooperate with simple tasks such as getting dressed and getting in the car!  While I believe that all these little sacrifices they have to make for their siblings really teach them so many important life lessons are are so good for them in the long run, I did want to just spoil the older girls just for a few hours!!  It ended up not working out getting a sitter so we brought Ellie Belle and we ended up having a really good time!  We went to Jamba Juice and I let them all get their own smoothie (a big deal in our house!) and then to the library.  I had a brief opportunity to read to/with my three older ones and even received some one on one with the baby while the others were searching for books.  Surprisingly, Ellie did not even partake in her previous favorite library past time of ripping books of the bottom shelf and throwing them in a pile for no apparent reason, ha!  She did start getting really sick of me taking her pictures, as you can see from the picture of her in the book return basket!  That is her yelling, "Mama, stop!" at the top of her lungs in the middle of the library because she was kind of done.  Nice.  That was pretty much our cue to get going and get her back home for her nap.  All in all, it was a great, relaxing day just enjoying my girls and giving them a little extra love!

I can't wait to see what these other ladies post about!  I would have loved to plan something with my mom, sister and sister-in-laws or a group of girlfriends but sometimes that can be so hard to coordinate.  Not to mention, I rarely even really plan nights/days out with my husband, so sometimes squeezing in some girl time can be difficult.  I do think I need to make that more of a priority in my life.  I often feel like I am doing a decent job as a mother, but it is so encompassing that I feel I am not as available as I'd like to be for my sisters and friends.  How do you other ladies balance that?  Do you schedule in phone calls?  Girls nights on a regular basis?  I would love to hear your thoughts!!
