Meet My Photographers

The best part about starting this blog, and the only thing that makes it possible for me, is that these two cuties are my little photographers!  My oldest two daughters, Lily 8 and Savannah 6, have been taking my pictures since we started this blog last year.  We had received a Canon Rebel for Christmas and I was trying to figure it out and of course the kids wanted to try it out too.  I thought it might be fun if we learned about photography together and I was also looking for a creative outlet for myself and a way to share the Skin Care products that I truly love, so then, this blog was born!

We, clearly, still don't really know exactly what we are doing, and basically just learning through trial and error.  I hope to sit down with the kids and watch some YouTube tutorials with them or maybe even take a class one day, but we will see if that ever happens!

I love having them take my pictures too because they crack me up.  My older daughter takes it pretty serious and is always trying to get good light and find good backdrops.  My younger one is always trying to catch me making a funny face, directing me to go a "little to the left" and then a "little to the right" just to make me move around like a crazy person and saying stuff like, "work it Mom and own it, Mom".  It's hard not to laugh at either of their photography styles and their teeny little legs poking out from behind the camera is just adorable.  It's also nice to have them as photographers because we don't have to stick to any kind of schedule.  Life with littles is so unpredictable, there is no way I could stick to a shoot at a specific time or location!  And it makes it so it doesn't really interfere with our day.  We basically just take pictures on our way out.  We only "shoot" during the week too so that our weekend family time is also not interrupted.  They were pretty excited to be "featured" here, so I interviewed them below!

Interview with Lillian (age 8)

Me:  When are you aren't taking pictures, what is your favorite thing to do?

Lily:  Hmmm . . . that's hard, I have a lot of things.  I like to play games, watch shows, go fishing, and I can't wait to go hunting when I am old enough!

Me:  If your Mom wasn't making you take pictures of her, what would you want to take pictures of?

Lily: Pretty plants and flowers, babies dressed as elephants, and nature.

Me:  If you could start a blog, what would be about?

Lily: Mother nature and babies dressed as animals . . . I hope no one steals this idea.

Me;  What do you think God wants you to be when you grow up?

Lily: A mermaid or a blacksmith.

Me:  What is your photography style?

Lily:  Trying to make sure the light is in the perfect spot and taking as many as I can so at least one will turn out well.

Interview with Savannah (age 6)

Me:  When are you aren't taking pictures, what is your favorite thing to do?

Savannah: Play.

Me:  If your Mom wasn't making you take pictures of her, what would you want to take pictures of?

Savannah: Nature because nature is pretty.  Also, either babies dressed as animals or animals dressed as babies.  Or both.

Me:  If you could start a blog, what would be about?

Savannah:  Fishing and Sports.

Me;  What do you think God wants you to be when you grow up?

Savannah: A nurse or a doctor.

Me:  What is your photography style?

Savannah:  Take pictures really fast so I can be done and at least one can turn out good.

If you made it this far in this post, thanks so much for reading!  My girls will get a kick out of it!

Have a great weekend!
